Local business sponsorship FAQs
Everything you need to know about how ZipSprout connects local businesses with community sponsorship opportunities.
These answers walk you through getting started, how the process works, and what kind of results you can expect.
How easy is it to work with ZipSprout?
Agencies can give us simple criteria like “two links in Buffalo, family-oriented.” We handle everything (from prospecting and approvals to fulfillment and link checks for 12 months).
Our flat fee of $150 per link covers the whole process, no commissions.
How do I get started?
Just email us with a request for a single link. We’ll handle the rest so you can see how it works before committing to more.
Do I need to sign a contract?
No. There’s no contract or MSA. You tell us how many links you want, and we find them. You’re billed only after they’re live.
Can we try a few sponsorships before committing long-term?
Yes. You can start with just a few placements to see the results. If it works for you, we can build on that and grow your local sponsorship presence over time.
How can we make this work with a limited marketing budget?
We understand many small businesses handle marketing themselves.
We’ll walk you through how our process works, share examples of what we’ve done for other clients, and tailor a plan that fits your budget.
What if our sponsorship budget is small?
Most of our campaigns land around $500 total, with a $150 service fee included.
If your budget is smaller, we can point you to our Local Sponsorship Finder so you can connect with opportunities directly.
Are you limited to a specific area or city?
No. We’re not restricted to one location, so we can find relevant sponsorship opportunities wherever they make the most sense for your goals.
Can you get only high-DA links?
We can target them, but most high-DA sponsorships cost more than the $500 total typical for our campaigns.
Our priority is securing relevant links from trusted local organizations that deliver real visibility.
Is a sponsorship considered a donation?
No. It’s a sponsorship where you get something in return, like visibility and a local link. It’s not treated as a charitable donation for tax purposes.
Can I cancel an order after it’s placed?
Yes, but we ask for 30 days’ notice. If a link is already in progress, there may be a $75 fee per placement, though we review each case individually.
How is ZipSprout different from other link builders?
We focus on securing links through nonprofit sponsorships, not just building business listings on sites like Yelp or Google Business Profile.
This creates unique, community-driven links you won’t get from standard citation building.
Why not handle local sponsorships in-house?
Securing a sponsorship link takes more work than most expect: from getting approvals to exchanging payment and following up until the link goes live.
We manage those steps for you.
What types of businesses do you work with?
We work with all kinds of local service providers: from lawyers and dentists to plumbers and contractors. If you want to be more visible in your community, reach out.
How do you determine if a link is relevant?
We look at the audience, location, and topic. For local campaigns, we focus heavily on geographic relevance, along with checking domain authority and spam scores when needed.
Do you check spam scores before matching opportunities?
Yes. We only work with sites that have a spam score under 10. Anything higher signals a problem, so we avoid those placements.
Will you always find enough opportunities in my area?
If your target area is very limited, we may eventually run out of local opportunities. In that case, we’ll discuss expanding the radius so we can keep delivering quality links.
How much work will this be for me?
Very little. We handle all communication with the organizations, get the details, and present you with pre-approved options. You just say yes or no, and we take care of the rest.
How soon will I see results from sponsorship links?
It depends. Some see improvements within weeks, others in a few months. Competition and current visibility play a big role.
Our focus is to increase visibility to your core business pages for lasting, long-term growth.
Why do some companies see faster results than others?
Not every client will see the same results from high-quality link building. The ones that get quick wins often share a few traits:
- Lower starting authority: If a site has little authority to begin with, good links can make a bigger impact, faster.
- Local focus: Local businesses can benefit quickly because relevant local links drive qualified traffic straight to them.
- Simpler setups: Smaller businesses have fewer moving parts, so it’s easier to connect results directly to the work we’re doing.
How do I know this will work for me?
We use data from past campaigns to show how sponsorship links can improve visibility. Even starting small and chipping away at link gaps can lead to steady results over time.
How many links do we need to compete for top keywords?
We review your pages and target the most valuable opportunities first. The goal is to get the most impact possible within your budget.
What else can sponsorships offer beyond a link?
Local sponsorships can include perks like a booth at an event, free tickets, logo placement, or mentions in newsletters.
These can help with visibility, but many businesses don’t take full advantage of them.
